ADULT  REHOMES
* * * * * * * * *

Occasionally we may have adult cats to rehome, usually due to the following two circumstances:-

1. We have decided to retire the cat from breeding and are looking for a new forever pet home. This is a heartbreaking decision for us as our cats are much loved members of our family. However, we could be faced with many issues such as the cat isn't coping well in a multicat household, isn't suited to being a Mum, or is being retired due to breeding age.

It is not a decision we take lightly and once made is usually followed by many tears, however, as responsible Breeders, we feel that our main priority is to do what is right for our cats and as much as we'd love to, it is impossible for us to keep all Neuters aswell as Breeding cats. We have to look at each cats individual needs, for example, as mentioned above, not all cats thrive in a multicat household and may be happier as a single cat in a new home. We have to put our own feelings to one side and put the cats best interests first. We feel that as much as they have a wonderful life here with us, after retirement they deserve a home where they are going to be given all the attention in the world, which they deserve, rather than having to take it in turns here for fuss and cuddles with all of our other cats.

In this scenario we will spay/neuter the cat before he/she leaves here. We strive to find the best new homes possible which will suit each cats individual needs. Please note that we will only rehome to kind, safe and loving "indoor-only" homes. A rehoming fee will apply individual to each cat.  PLEASE READ OUR TERMS OF SALE BELOW.

2. The second reason we may be rehoming an adult cat is if our breeding plans are changing, ie we may be giving up breeding a certain colour etc. In this scenario, we may consider rehoming to another reputable Breeder on the Active register dependent on the cats age and suitability. Strict conditions will apply.... PLEASE READ OUR TERMS OF SALE BELOW.

TERMS OF SALE FOR ADULT REHOMES

We have sold the cat on the basis that he/she will live "indoors" only (although access to an outdoor pen / enclosure or teaching your companion to walk on a harness is acceptable). We do not like the thought of our cats/kittens potentially being lost, stolen or killed outside on the roads if left to roam the streets and therefore feel that an indoor only home on the basis of the above is the safest option for both the cat and also for the new owners peace of mind. We cannot be held responsible for any illness, injury or death of a cat/kitten now that he/she is in the care of the new owner(s).

All of our cats/kittens are full pedigree British Shorthairs and are registered either NON-ACTIVE (not to be bred from under any circumstance) or ACTIVE (breeding rights) with the GCCF or TICA.  1. In the case of rehoming one of our adult cats to a pet home we ourselves will spay/neuter the cat before he/she leaves us. 2. In the exceptional circumstance that we have agreed to sell the cat ACTIVE (with Breeding Rights) to another reputable Breeder, the sale has been made on the basis that your cat will only be bred responsibly and only to another Registered Pedigree cat (note that we cannot be held responsible should your cat fail to breed successfully for any reason). Please also follow any additional agreements made between both parties.

In either of the above scenarios, should the new owner decide at any point to rehome the cat, the cat must be neutered / spayed (if not already done so) and sold to a safe and loving “indoor-only” PET HOME. Under no circumstance is the cat to be re-sold on as an “entire” breeding cat. Please discuss with ourselves before rehoming.

A cat will only be classed as "reserved" once a deposit amount of £200 (non-active) / £300 (active) has been paid (which includes the bank clearance wait should cheques be given). If the deposit has been made prior to viewing then we are happy to refund should the new owner change their mind at the time of viewing. However, should both parties (Buyer and Seller) still be happy and agree for the sale to go ahead after viewing the deposit amount will then become NON-refundable (unless we ourselves terminate the sale). Please note that we reserve the right to refuse or terminate a sale at any time. The remaining balance is to be paid in full upon collection of your cat. Please be aware that if a cheque is to be issued or bank transfer made these would need to clear prior to the collection date.

Prior to thinking of owning a cat/kitten we highly recommend that you spend time around other cats, maybe owned by family and friends, in order to make sure that you are not allergic and that a cat is the right pet for you. It is heartbreaking, especially for young children, to bond with a new cat only to have to be separated at a later date due to an allergy. Also, as we are only small scale hobby breeders with limited space breeding from within our home environment, we need to take into account the dynamics, welfare, health and happiness of our existing and already established cat family. We cannot run the risk of illness / disease being brought back into our home / cattery which means that we cannot always offer to take a cat/kitten back should quarantine space be limited (although we will help you whichever alternate way we can). PLEASE BE SURE BEFORE YOU COMMIT as this will save any unnecessary stress, worry and heartache in the long run not only for both the new owner and Breeder but most of all limit any unnecessary disruption for the cat/kitten.

Both Breeder & Buyer will agree on a suitable time to collect the cat. Recovery time due to neutering / spaying before leaving may need to be taken into account. Your cat will leave here uptodate with vaccinations and preventative flea/worm treatment. All paperwork including Pedigree, Registration Papers, Vaccination card etc will be given to the new owners upon collection together with a Care Sheet and samples of the food they are already used to.

IMPORTANT – INSURANCE:-

WE STRONGLY ADVISE NEW OWNERS TO TAKE OUT INSURANCE FOR THEIR NEW PET.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any injury / illness / vets costs now that the cat / kitten is in the care of his / her new owners. Please be responsible and insure your pet.
